Someone To Watch Over Me

Autor

Sky Sommers

With an abusive, but dead ex, Grace is scared off men. So, when a handsome stranger appears and saves her from drunken bullies, she’s not too sure she should listen to what her heart wants. After all, she already has someone to care for – a rescued kitten. The very same kitten who keeps climbing in and out of her window…as a man. Well, an angel, really. A guardian whose job is to try and keep Grace alive through multiple assassination attempts. How do you become a guardian angel? By dying. A severely understaffed Agency of Guardian Angels tries to keep watch, but 16 priority screens when there are 63 known worlds and a couple of unknown ones are clearly not enough. When there are plenty of damsels in distress, new recruits, even former bad boys, are always welcome. A path of service can be chosen or offered and if you become a knight in shining armour, not a guardian angel, you can even retire when the damsel you save turns out to be your true love (some of us find love after we are dead). There are four parallel stories and some characters – Sally, Grace, Della and the frog, if you must know - make a reappearance in other books. Optimists and pessimists each get their own ending – because there are moments when the decisions we take can lead to completely different outcomes. No cusswords, sex or profanity in this fairy-tale for adults. Also suitable for young adult readers.
