Tõnu Oja is a renowned Estonian actor, poet, and lyricist. He graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory’s Drama Department, 9th graduating class. Since 2003, Oja has been an actor at the Estonian Drama Theatre. His creative work includes roles in theater, films, and television series, including "Salmonid", "Pehmed ja karvased", "Ohtlik lend", "Tuulepealne maa", and "Kättemaksukontor".
In 2024, he published the poetry collection "Vahi kuue paiku vahi kuue paiku. Vaata umbes kell kuus valvuri pintsaku paranduslappe", together with Laur Lomper. The book brings together ballads and reflections, shedding light on Oja’s diverse creative work.
Throughout his career, Tõnu Oja has received several prestigious awards, including the Ants Lauter Prize (1989) and the Order of the White Star, IV Class (2001), recognizing his contribution to Estonian culture.
