Sveta Grigorjeva is an Estonian poet, dancer, and choreographer, whose work combines bold self-expression and social sensitivity. Her debut poetry collection, "Kes kardab Sveta Grigorjevat?" ("Who’s Afraid of Sveta Grigorjeva?"), introduced her as a strong and uncompromising voice in Estonian literature. Her style is fearless and ironic, breaking stereotypes and giving a voice to those on the margins of society.
Her third poetry collection, "Frankenstein", explores the search for a broader, more fluid sense of body and world perception. This work intertwines physicality, sharp social critique, and tenderness toward those who don’t fit in or have been marginalized. The title refers to Frankenstein’s monster as a boundary-breaking spokesperson for those who have been forced to feel ashamed of themselves.
Beyond literature, Grigorjeva is also an active performance artist. Her stage productions, including "Sütitajad" ("The Igniters"), address socially significant themes, inviting audiences to reflect and feel. In her work, poetry and dance merge, creating a unique artistic expression that reflects her versatile talent and commitment to social issues.
