Oksanen’s most famous novel is undoubtedly “Purge” (“Puhastus”), published in 2008, which earned her numerous awards, including the Nordic Council Literature Prize. “Purge” is a powerful and suspenseful story of two women from different generations, connected by a legacy of violence and silence in 20th-century Estonia.
