Ragnar Jonasson

Ragnar Jónasson is an Icelandic author known for his thrilling crime novels. He is internationally recognized as the author of the "Dark Iceland" series, earning him comparisons to the top Nordic crime writers.

Jónasson began his literary career at just seventeen, translating fourteen Agatha Christie novels into Icelandic. In addition to writing, he works as a lawyer and teaches copyright law at the University of Reykjavík. He has also gained experience in radio and television, including working as a reporter for the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service.

Ragnar Jónasson is a member of the UK Crime Writers’ Association and founded its first international chapter in Reykjavík. He is also the creator of the international crime literature festival Iceland Noir, which brings together crime fiction enthusiasts from around the world.
