Kristiina Ehin

Kristiina Ehin

Kristiina Ehin is one of Estonia’s most renowned poets and prose writers, known for her deeply emotional and folklore-inspired poetic style. Her poetry collections, such as "Kaitseala", "Aga armastusel on metsalinnu süda", and "Janu on kõikidel üks", have been warmly received by both readers and critics. In addition to poetry, she has also written novels and prose, including "Südametammide taga", which explores the role of women in society and history.

Ehin’s works have been translated into several languages, including English, Swedish, and Finnish, and she has been recognized with multiple literary awards. Her books often address deeply personal themes while intertwining them with broader existential and social questions. Besides literature, she is also active in music as a member of the vocal-instrumental ensemble Naised Köögis.

Thanks to her distinctive voice and creativity, Kristiina Ehin remains a central figure in Estonian literature, with her works resonating with both local and international audiences.
