Ellen Niit

Ellen Niit was a beloved Estonian writer and poet whose work has left a profound mark on Estonian children's literature. Niit began her literary career in 1954 with the poem "Kuidas leiti nääripuu", followed in 1957 by the innovative and popular "Rongisõit". She has written over 40 books of poetry, prose, and plays, many of which have become classics of Estonian children's literature. Some of her most well-known works include "Pille-Riini lood", "Krõll", and "Triinu ja Taavi lood".

Ellen Niit's works are distinguished by their playful use of language and heartfelt tone, bringing joy to both children and adults. Her literary legacy remains cherished, continuing to be an important part of Estonian cultural heritage.
