Ilmar Tomusk is an Estonian government official and acclaimed children's author whose works have captivated both children and adults. Since 1995, he has served as the Director General of the Estonian Language Inspectorate, but his journey as a writer began during his school years when he wrote humorous short stories. His early works were published in the magazine Pikker and featured on Eesti Raadio’s show "Meelejahutaja".
Tomusk’s debut book, "Tere, Volli!", was published in 2007, paving the way for his literary career. To date, he has written over 40 children's books, including the popular "Kolmanda A kriminalistid" ("The Third A Criminalists") and "Kullakallis kass" ("The Precious Cat"). His books are known for their imaginative plots, unique characters, and clever use of language, showcasing the richness and playfulness of the Estonian language.
Ilmar Tomusk’s children's books have received numerous awards and recognitions. His works have been multiple-time winners at the Nukitsas competition, where children themselves choose their favorite books, and they have been nominated for various literary awards.
