Curves: 15 Perspectives on Car Design

Step into the creative heart of car design with 15 Perspectives on Car Design

Written by Fabio Filippini, former Chief Creative Officer at Pininfarina, this beautifully illustrated volume blends personal memoir, professional insight, and the artistry of freehand sketching.

Across four decades designing for Renault, Volkswagen Group, and other global marques, Filippini has shaped everything from radical concept cars to production models seen on streets worldwide. Here, he invites you into the design studio to explore the process from the spark of an idea to the finished form – capturing both the precision of craft and the thrill of inspiration.

Through intimate stories and hundreds of original sketches, Curves reflects on the golden era of Italian coachbuilders, the principles behind timeless automotive beauty, and the subtle emotional bond between people and cars. Each lesson offers not only a glimpse into the life of a designer at the top of his field, but also a set of creative insights that apply far beyond the automotive world.

Whether you’re a design student, an industry professional, or simply someone who loves beautiful machines, Curves will change the way you look at every car – revealing the artistry, discipline, and passion hidden within every curve.
