The Whispering Bones

A British serial-killer thriller pairing a fading veteran detective with an unpredictable young officer, as ritualistic murders unsettle the London suburbs. Police procedural suspense built on trauma, obsession and evil hiding in plain sight.

He's Hunted the Killer for Seven Years. Now He's Forgetting the Clues.

Like a python after a meal, he had rested. But now the hunger was rising again…

A serial murderer stalks the affluent suburbs of North London. The victims are found drained of blood, surrounded by bizarre arrangements of small animal bones.

For seven years, DCI Oswald Lennox has chased a ghost, his once razor-sharp instincts dulled by insomnia and memory lapses. The killer is getting bolder, and Lennox is starting to fear that the biggest clue might be the one he's already forgotten.

PC Olivia Blackwood's ADHD makes her unpredictable but brilliant, when she's focused. Assigned to shadow Lennox, she's the last person he wants on the case, and she knows it. But as they close in on the killer, a shared history comes to light that binds them in ways neither expected, just as the murderer prepares a final, devastating strike.

The Whispering Bones is the first book in the Lennox & Blackwood crime series, for readers who love British police procedurals, serial-killer hunts, mismatched detective duos and cold cases that refuse to stay cold. Perfect for fans of Mark Billingham, Jane Casey and William Shaw.
