Texts for language students

The present reader contains ten texts meant for independent work of language students.
In selecting material the author has attempted to provide the students with texts on general linguistics, semantics, grammar, lexicology, stylistics, typology and methods of teaching foreign languages.
The material presented has been collected from various publications issued in the Soviet Union and abroad.
