Style in syntax

This book develops an approach to syntactic variation based on the cognitive principle that linguistic variants are not merely formal choices, but rather entail different conceptualizations of reality. They can in turn be used to create communicative styles in interaction, which is illustrated through the analysis of Spanish pronoun subjects.
