Fate & Fortune

Hew Cullan is disillusioned with his legal studies. After his father's death he finds a manuscript 'In Defence of the Law' in amongst his things. After a girl is found dead on the beach he finds himself unable to resist the text's influence. He moves to Edinburgh and forms dangerous friends, and events lead him to make disturbing discoveries
