ALATI MEIE KÕRVAL. KASSID JA KOERAD KUNSTIS

Eesti Kunstimuuseumi 2021. aasta kalender on pühendatud inimeste truudele kaaslastele kassidele ja koertele. Kalendri teema on ajendatud Kadrioru kunstimuuseumi näitusest „Alati meie kõrval.

Kalendris reprodutseeritud teosed kuuluvad Eesti Kunstimuuseumi kogusse.

Calendar 2020 Always by Our Side: Cats and Dogs in Art

Compiled by Renita Raudsepp Graphic design and image editing by Külli Kaats Wall calendar, size 25 × 37 cm The calendars are packed in plastic In Estonian and English Published by the Art Museum of Estonia Tallinn 2020 EAN 4742506006648

The Art Museum of Estonia calendar 2021 is dedicated to cats and dogs, people’s loyal friends. The theme of the calendar was inspired by the exhibition Always by Our Side: Cats and Dogs in 16th–19th-Century Art at the Kadriorg Art Museum (Autumn–Winter 2020/2021).

Cats and dogs have lived together with humans for thousands of years, and have time and again inspired artists. They appear in art as both main and supporting characters, have been presented from positive, negative and neutral viewpoints and have been portrayed in all possible genres and techniques. However, the works created by artists over time and the works chosen for this calendar primarily reflect the attitude of people toward animals and, therefore, toward people themselves.

Artworks reproduced in the calendar belong to the collection of the Art Museum of Estonia.
